Following the weather warnings issued for this week and in light of the exceptionally high temperatures forecast, we have taken the decision to close the school early at 12:20pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Students should arrive at school no later than 8.25am as usual. They will then attend tutor time and periods 1, 2 and 3 as normal and will be dismissed at 12:20pm. Work for periods 4 and 5 will be set for students to complete at home on each of the 3 days, and teachers will provide guidance on how and when this work should be completed.

 In addition:

• All outdoor PE lessons scheduled for the mornings will be rearranged.
• School trips taking place during the 3 days have been cancelled or postponed.
• Students eligible for Free School Meals will be able to collect a packed lunch from the canteen before leaving the site.

To help students remain comfortable in the high temperatures, all students may attend school in their PE kit this week. Students who wish to wear normal school uniform do not need to wear a blazer or tie.

Students should ensure they bring a refillable water bottle and we strongly recommend that sunscreen is applied before arriving at school.
