Our next speaker is Katie, who attended Cheam High School from 2011 – 2018 (including the sixth form). Katie told us that from childhood, she wanted to be a teacher, however, at the last minute she changed her mind. She knew she enjoyed helping people and giving advice, so she started to apply for apprenticeships in Human Resources. She was successful in securing an apprenticeship at Christie’s – the world’s leading auction house. Almost 4 years later, she is still there!
Christie’s sell artwork at auction across the world. The company has roles in a variety of departments from Operations, Marketing, Compliance & Legal, Technology, HR and Art Departments including Jewellery, Contemporary Art, Old Paintings, Books, Furniture and Asian & World Art.
Katie will tell us about her apprenticeship, her current role and the highlights of her job. It promises to be fascinating.
The talk is aimed at students in Years 9 to 13 but if you have a student in a lower year group who is interested they are welcome to join.
