PE Challenge - Children's Mental Health Week 2021

This is Children's Mental Health Awareness Week, and as it is important that all children spend time away from their screens, we are asking all students to down tools on the afternoon of Friday 5th February and take part in a PE challenge.  This will take the place of their scheduled period 5 lesson.

Students may choose to complete either of the challenges or both.  And we would love parents and carers to join in too!  The challenges are:

·       To record as many steps as possible on Friday 5th February

·       To run for 30 minutes and see how many kilometres you can do

Please ensure though that students follow the Government’s guidelines to only go outside for one form of exercise a day.  (Students can do other exercise inside though to build those steps up) and must only meet up with one other person from another household.

The PE staff will be posting these challenges on ClassCharts and Google for Friday 5th February and students must complete the Google sheet, with their name, number of steps achieved if completing Challenge 1 or distance  if completing Challenge 2.  This should be shared with their PE teacher and Miss Rudd.

The most steps completed in each year group and the furthest distance run will win a prize.

Other staff in the school will also be giving these challenges a go, so let’s see so who can do the most steps in a day and run the furthest in 30 minutes, students or staff members!

There will be a prize for parents too, so if you do take part, send us your steps and a photo of you running or walking!
