The Year 7 and 8 boys cricket teams spent the day at The Oval to celebrate what had been a fantastic Cricket World Cup for both England ( the overall winners) and the significant rise in interest in the sport itself. A day which was already an amazing event with on and off field activities with some of Surrey's top coaches saw it turn into a truly unforgettable day when the World Cup winners turned up. They entered the field of play through a guard of honour and in true gentlemen fashion stayed on pitch for over an hour to sign World Cup memorabilia and talk about the events from the day before. Our day was made even better when two lucky students were able to lift the trophy with the England captain Eoin Morgan. This is a day that I hope will live in the memory with the students who attended for a life time. Thank you for Surrey and the England cricket team for hosting such an incredible event.
