Support During Holidays
Posted: 17/12/25

As we look forward to the end of term, we felt it was important to remind parents that staff who would normally be available to support you with concerns you have about your child’s health or wellbeing, will not be available.
We would like to suggest the following sources of support should you deem this necessary or appropriate for your child.
As always, if it is an emergency, call the police.

Obviously, many young people will have more free time — and often more access to phones, tablets and social media. This can be a great opportunity for them to stay connected with friends, but it also increases the chances of encountering risks such as inappropriate content, online bullying, or pressure to share personal information.
We kindly encourage all parents and carers to take a few moments over the break to:
- Check privacy settings on your child’s social media accounts.
- Discuss online safety, including what to do if something makes them uncomfortable.
- Set healthy boundaries around screen time and device use, especially overnight.
- Stay engaged by knowing which apps and platforms they are using.
- Encourage openness, so they feel able to talk to you about anything they see online.
Please also remind students that it is not acceptable to post images of staff or other members of the school community on social media platforms without relevant consents.
Should you require advice about how best to support a child in urgent need you may call Sutton Children’s’ First Contact Services on 0208 770 6001 or email childrensfirstcontactservice@sutton.gov.uk
