The Meristem Building
Posted: 1/12/25

On the 27th November, we officially opened our new building. Although it's been in use for a number of weeks, we wanted to give it a name and invite guests to a special viewing.
We held a tutor competition to suggest a name and after some careful deliberation we chose Meristem.
Meristem is the name of a special plant cell that is necessary for new growth, it's a cell that has the potential to specialise, develop and adapt.
The opening was attended by our Chair of Governors, our CEOs past and present, the contractors, and members of school staff.
We started the event with a short speech from our Headteacher, Mr Amin. The Chair of Governors then named the building and declared it open while students cut the ribbon. Our guests were taken on a tour of the building, followed by a reception hosted by students.
