Dear Parents/Carers,

You will be aware that the Government have just issued a red extreme heat warning, for the first time, for Monday and Tuesday (18/19 July) next week. 

As a result of this, we have taken the decision to finish earlier on both these days.  Normal timings will apply to lessons for Periods 1-3 and school will  then end for all students before lunch at 12.10pm on both Monday and Tuesday.  Those students who receive a free school meal will be able to pick up a packed lunch before they leave. 

Students will be expected to leave the site and make their way home at this time, before the temperatures climb in the afternoon. Work will be set online for Period 4 and Period 5 lessons.  Students should check Classcharts and their Google Classrooms and will be expected to complete this. 

Normal timings will apply for the school day on Wednesday and at the moment, we expect to end at the usual time of 2.40pm on this day. 

Students may continue to wear either their PE kits or uniform until the last day of term on Thursday.  Please note that with these changes in timings, we do expect all students to attend school as normal next week.
