Live Online Careers Talk 8th June
Posted: 6/06/22
Our next online careers talk is taking place on the 8th June 2022 between 3.30 and 4.00pm
Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths careers with the Canal and River Trust
Talk 1 - Engineering
The next three in our series of careers talks will be delivered by the Canal and River Trust, a charity who care for and bring to life 2,000 miles of UK waterways. They not only look after them, they promote them to the eight million plus people who have waterways on their doorstep, enabling many more people to benefit from a free accessible and local source of wellbeing.
There are endless STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) learning opportunities along our canals and rivers, from understanding biological habitats to calculating the physics of water management. Each of the three talks will feature a different aspect of the careers available in the STEM field, starting with engineering. Please don’t be put off if you are not interested in boats, canals or rivers, the talks are more about the general skills and qualifications needed for STEM careers.
We aim to widen students' horizons regarding potential careers and you can help by encouraging your child to join the talk. If you would like to sign your child up, please email Miss Bishop at careers@oaksparkhigh.org.uk
We will then send an invitation to join the Google Classroom via their school Google account. Please remember to include your child's name in your response and remind them to join the meeting on the day.
Thank you
Miss R Bishop
