Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Trip

On 6th February, 20 keen drama students in Year 8 had the opportunity to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Part 1 and Part 2. We took the tube and made our way to the Palace Theatre.
We were up in the balcony so after a climb of many stairs, we took our seats. Part 1 was incredible, students commented on the cool effects, good plot twists and smooth transitions. The final scene had students clinging onto their seats as dementors flew overhead.
We had two hours before Part 2 so we took the opportunity to visit the beautiful Phoenix Gardens, hidden away from the bustle of the London streets. We had lunch and spent time looking at the frogs, birds and plants. We then took a short walk to see the Butterfly Trail. This vast space uses projections to immerse the viewer in different artworks. It's free and really worth a short visit if you are in the area.
Back to the theatre for Part 2, which didn't disappoint, one student commented 'it hit my feels in ways nothing else could!'
All of the students were joyous to be with and fantastic theatre goers. To quote them, the day was magical, memorable, amazing and phenomenal!
